My honest appraisal is included below. The guy who bought my Ibanez RG that you worked on also thought it was the best Ibanez he’d ever played, so I reckon he’s pretty happy too!

I can honestly say that taking my guitars to Nigel has proved one of the best choices I’ve ever made during my years as a guitar player and trader. Not only has he taken very run-of-the-mill instruments and made them extraordinary, but he has a fine ear for what sounds sweet too, so instruments come back from him not only feeling delightful to play but also sounding great. The guitars I own that he has worked on are flat-out the best guitars I have ever played.

The standard of Nigel’s work has always been extremely high, (at very competitive prices), but he also offers a level of after-sales advice and service that is second to none. Working with Nigel has not only improved my guitars, but also my playing and my understanding of how the instruments perform. It helps too that he’s always easily contactable and willing to take the time to discuss a particular job or request.

I would certainly not need to look anywhere else for the highest quality setup and repair work on my guitars, and would not hesitate in giving Nigel my highest recommendation for his service and craftsmanship.

USA Fender Strat – Total sort out! 

Nigel did a great job on my 10-year old Fender “Blackie” Strat. I had received the guitar from the US is a non-playable condition. Work included constructing a new nut plus a fret-level; crown and polish to remove some heavy fret grooves added by the former owner. During the work Nigel kept me fully informed of progress and updated me via email with suggestions and thoughts for further improvements, e.g. adding a trem-block for added sustain. I highly recommend Nigel and think you will have the same first class, personal service from him as I did.

“I took my Japanese Strat to Nigel because I wasn’t happy with the intonation, some of the frets were dented and the fingerboard was a little bit damaged. I wasn’t enjoying playing it because it didn’t feel right. For a reasonable fee, the guitar neck was de-warped, shimmed and refretted with Jescar nickel frets. The fingerboard was given rolled edges (just like the most expensive new Fender Stats) and refinished in vintage aged nitrocellulose to match the rest of the guitar. Everything was checked over. I can honestly say that it now looks fantastic and is even better to hold! The action is perfect. It feels like a very expensive guitar and sounds infinitely better than it used to – Nigel did an excellent job!”
